Text and graphics are permanently marked on stainless steel, anodized aluminum, chrome plating and many plastics, as well as a variety of other materials. Laser marking is widely used in place of ink printing because a laser mark won't wear off in chemical environments and is commonly less expensive. Bar codes, lot codes, serial numbers and characters as small as .015" are marked with ease.
